Sahi Montanez has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. She began working at 14 years old, and by high school, she had already started her own small business. Despite getting her lip-care line off the ground, Montanez still felt lost navigating her business’ finances, and support was hard to find. At 19, Montanez is now feeling better about her financial literacy.

Routine ruled nine months of Michelle Spicer’s life during the third year of her doctoral studies. She started each morning of every day in a forest. Whether stationed in Washington, Western Pennsylvania or Panama, Spicer would wake at 6 a.m., dress in waterproof clothing, slide into rubber boots and begin her steep and muddy trek to the plot of trees she would be working on for the day. For Spicer, fieldwork was both exhausting and rewarding.

Lehigh’s Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts and Sciences (IDEAS) program is a four-year interdisciplinary honors program that allows students to explore an individualized thematic degree. With its first class of students graduating in 2011, IDEAS is relatively young compared to other interdisciplinary programs at Lehigh.

Through a mix of special nicknames, long-held tradition and “the spirit of the game,” Lehigh Ultimate Frisbee continues to thrive on and off campus. According to Lehigh Sports, the team was founded in 1975, making it one of the oldest collegiate Ultimate teams in the country. Lehigh Ultimate Frisbee consists of three teams: Lehigh United, the men’s A and B teams, and Lehigh Gravity, the women’s team. The teams have separate practices and tournaments throughout the fall and spring semesters.
