A former Arsenal kit man has launched legal proceedings against the Premier League club after he was fired over comments on social media about Israel, Palestine and the war in Gaza. Mark Bonnick, 61, worked as a member of the London club's community coaching staff for 22 years and was working as a kit man in Arsenal's academy for youth players at the time of his dismissal last year.

Rights groups and charities gathered outside the Royal Courts of Justice on Tuesday to support a legal challenge against the UK government's continuing export of F-35 fighter jet parts for use by Israel. Holding Palestinian flags and signs calling on the government to “stop arming Israel”, dozens of campaigners joined the lawyers leading the case to demand an end to all UK arms exports to the country.

Palestinian health ministry officials said Israeli strikes on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday killed nine Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of them women and children. Two of the strikes hit tents in the southern city of Khan Younis, each killing two children and their parents. Nasser hospital reported that a third strike killed a child and wounded seven people.

The rector of St Andrews University in the UK has won her appeal after the institution removed her from its governing body for issuing a statement that condemned Israel's "genocidal attacks" on Gaza. Last year, the University of St Andrews removed Stella Maris from her position on the university court after its investigation concluded that she exercised "poor judgment" for sending an email to all students in November 2023 that called for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza.
