The wooden statue is dedicated to late vet Ian Sergeant, who was popular in the Caerwys community. He had worked at the Somerville Veterinary Practice since 1982 and also had clinics in Greenfield and Rhyl.

James Jones, of Delfryn in Penycae, appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday, May 24. The 20-year-old previously, during a hearing at Wrexham Magistrates Court on April 2, pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The majority of residential roads throughout Wales changed from being 30mph to 20mph last September. This was, according to the Welsh Government, to help 'save lives'.
