There is a large police presence on Waterloo Road this evening following a crash. Police have cordoned off a section of the road, close to Everton's new Bramley-Moore stadium, with the road blocked in both directions. Witnesses reported an air ambulance landing in the car park of nearby Costco, which has since departed. A road ambulance was also present, along with a large number of police vehicles.

A number of Merseyrail services are facing disruption following "power supply problems" this evening. The train operator said power supply problems near James Street has caused disruption on the Wirral line. Photos show a cordon in place outside James Street station and several fire engines are at the scene.

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend festival is finally here - and the festival was in full swing from the moment gates opened at 2pm today. The festival takes places each year in a different location across the UK, with a superstar line-up curated by the radio station. Fans of Kylie Minogue went all out this evening in stunning outfits. The 'Princess of Pop' was in Liverpool for one night only with a sold-out show at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Thursday, May 22. Thousands gathered at the venue today to dance the night away, with many decked out in sequins and Kylie Minogue t-shirts in celebration of the event. The ECHO headed down to the arena to speak to fans ahead of the show.
