My lamb kebab (Image: The Argus) By the time the hot caramel sauce was poured over my chocolate bomb brownie in an impressive presentation of my dessert I had already enjoyed a lovely night and meal. Turkish starters and more sizzling mains had meant my night at the marina was a very filling and tasty one at a venue which had closed but was now open again as a new restaurant.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Theatre Royal Brighton (Image: Brighton Theatre Group) There was a deserved standing ovation at the end of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Theatre Royal Brighton last night. Brighton Theatre Group's performance is an exhilarating, funny and dramatic show with a cast who seemed at the top of their game from start to finish. The singing was a joy and the characters were really funny.

Brighton i360 Santa in the Sky (Image: Julia Claxton) We went out in search of getting fully into the Christmas spirit and Brighton certainly did not disappoint as we enjoyed the fabulous ice rink, an absolutely gorgeous afternoon tea and then a joyous trip into the sky with Santa on the i360. I love our ice rink in the gardens. It always makes me wish we had one all year round. We were there at 11am and there was a healthy number of skaters but still plenty of space.

3 1/1 It’s full steam ahead as a piece of Brighton and Hove’s history comes alive again this weekend. After being closed for nearly 20 years for repairs and renovation, the British Engineerium, which was once responsible for supplying water to the whole of Brighton and Hove, has re-opened its doors. Paper Daisy’s Winter Makers' Fair will be the first public event held there since becoming a Lifestyle and Wellbeing Centre run by The Happy Campus.

Dyke Road Park Tennis Club Impact Of The Lighting At The Periphery Of The Courts Image By Pentangle Design Group Neighbours have objected to a tennis club’s plans to put up floodlights covering three courts but they are outnumbered by those supporting the scheme. Thirteen objections were sent to Brighton and Hove City Council about Dyke Park Tennis Club’s plans for 10 floodlights, each 26ft (8m) high.
