EL CENTRO — On Friday, April 11, the Sure Helpline Center hosted its "Walk A Mile In Their Shoes" event, aimed at supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Imperial County. El Centro City Councilman Marty Ellett, his wife and Central Union High School Board Trustee Deby Ellett, along with District 1 Supervisor Jesus Eduardo Escobar, joined Central Union High School students, community members, and volunteers for the walk.

BRAWLEY — The Brawley City Council plans to establish on Tuesday an alternate workweek policy for certain employees. Human Resources Administrator Shirley Bonillas wrote in a report to the council that the city is one of the few public agencies that does not offer the alternate work schedule commonly referred to as the 9/80 schedule, which incorporates four nine-hour days from Monday through Thursday and an eight hour day every other Friday with an alternating Friday off.
