Matthew Dennis with the Assured Supervision Accountability Program says Terrance Green was due in court on multiple gun charges. Dennis claims Green fled when he was told he would be reprimanded due to non-compliance with the program.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A dead body was discovered Wednesday, April 16, during an encampment cleanup in the Tremé area. “There is a better way to live than to be living on the streets of not only New Orleans but of any city,” said Councilman Eugene Green. Green, along with a cleanup crew were in the area to clean up a homeless encampment in the 800 block of N. Derbigny Street when the discovery was made.

Yet Amy Stelly, founder of Claiborne Avenue Alliance Design Studio, says it’s driven so many away. Now a new Enviornmental Protection Agency grant is helping researchers dig into just how damaging the expressway has been, studying everything from traffic and air quality to public health and economics.
