A man has been arrested after police say he held his girlfriend's family hostage in their Millcreek home for about six months after convincing them he had ties with the cartel and that it wanted to kill them. The man later admitted it was a lie, police said. Dominic Christopher Garcia, 23, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Saturday for investigation of seven counts each of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, threats of violence and hazing involving use of a dangerous weapon.
