Henderson, 68, a lifelong resident of Oxford and a 21-year veteran of the council, said he wanted to continue enhancing the quality of life for city residents. A retired banker with a 46-year career in the industry, culminating in the position of City President of F&M Bank in Oxford, Henderson said his ties to the community run deep.

ANNISTON - The Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention has been awarded the Partnership for Success Marijuana Prevention Grant, securing $75,000 per year to fund substance misuse prevention initiatives at Jacksonville State University, according to a recent news release from the agency. The program marks the first collaboration between ASAP and Jax State. Marijuana is the second most misused substance, following alcohol, according to the release.
