GADSDEN — Gadsden State Community College has named Aaron Triplett as its new head tennis coach. Triplett, a Guntersville High School graduate, played collegiate tennis at both Gadsden State and Huntingdon College. He held top positions in singles and doubles, helping the Huntingdon Hawks reach the USA South Tournament Semifinals as a junior and the conference tournament again as a senior.

ANNISTON — Volunteers with the Alabama Power Service Organization’s Eastern Division spent the day June 10 revitalizing the exterior of the United Cerebral Palsy of East Central Alabama building in Anniston. About 40 volunteers cleared brush, landscaped the grounds and gave the building a fresh coat of paint. The building’s façade was transformed with deep red paint, accented by white columns and brown doors.
