A community engagement officer with the Gaithersburg Police Department was dispatched to Gaithersburg High School, located at 101 Education Blvd., at roughly 1 p.m. Tuesday for “an investigation,” according to a statement from Gaithersburg police spokesperson Dan Lane.

Ruiz Bell, 63, a Ride-On bus driver suffered a heart attack while driving southbound on Route 55 on Wednesday. The Gaithersburg resident and 13-year employee of the county pulled the bus over to a safe stop, but later died. [WJLA] Six people were displaced in a Wednesday morning fire at a home on the 12200 block of Kendall Street in Glenmont. Fire officials said the fire was likely caused by an overloaded power strip next to a desk in the bedroom. No one was injured.

Montgomery County fire and explosive investigators are looking into the cause of a Clarksburg house fire as possibly arson after a witness observed children running from the home before the blaze was reported Tuesday morning, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) spokesperson Pete Piringer said on social media. MCFRS crews responded at roughly 9:30 a.m. to a single-family home on the 22700 block of Frederick Road after reports of smoke coming from the roof, Piringer said.
