Voters can cast their ballots on Affton School District’s Proposition 1 in the upcoming April 8 election. The bond, if approved, would allow the district to use $30 million in funds for facility upgrades. It was approved for placement on the ballot during the Affton School District Board of Education’s Jan. 21 meeting.

The Affton School District will welcome a new assistant superintendent to the team this summer: educator and administrator Cassandra Walker Suggs. Suggs’ appointment was approved at the March 4 Board of Education meeting, and she will officially step into the role July 1. She currently serves as the director of educational equity & access for Rockwood School District.

HSI may work on cross-state crime, fentanyl casesFebruary 19, 2025 Certain officers from the Sunset Hills Police Department may be designated as Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) task force officers, following a passed resolution at the Board of Aldermen’s Feb. 11 meeting. “It will provide these officers with valuable experience that you can’t always get at the Sunset Hills Police Department,” Jeffrey Senior, a detective with the Sunset Hills Police Department, said.

The Crestwood Board of Aldermen gathered for a monthly meeting on Jan. 28, where the board approved an increase in daily admission fees for the Crestwood Aquatic Center and the purchase of a new patrol vehicle for the Crestwood Police Department. Swimmers at the Crestwood Aquatic Center will see their daily admission fees rise after the board approved an increase.
