They said NIA teams have been camping at the terror attack site since Wednesday, looking for clues. “The entry and exit points are being closely scrutinised by the investigating NIA teams for clues to the modus operandi of the terrorists. The teams, aided by forensic and other experts, are checking the entire area thoroughly for evidence to expose the terror conspiracy that led to the horrendous attack that has shocked the nation,” an NIA statement said.

Second-rank achiever Harshita Goyal has scored 1,038 marks (51.28 per cent) — 851 in the main exam and 187 in the interview. Goyal did her post-graduation in chartered accountancy. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Goyal (24) qualified the exam with political science and international relations as her optional subject in her third attempt. She lives in Gujarat’s Vadodara and her home state is Haryana.

Speaking to PTI, topper Dubey said she used to study every day to prepare for the coveted examination. “There was never a day when I did not study. There may be days when I have studied for four to five hours. But there was never a day when I did not study at all. So this has been a constant thing (of my preparations),” she said.

The 24-year-old Garg has a Bachelor of Technology degree in computer science from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He got fifth rank with sociology as his optional subject in his second attempt. He is the only one from the national capital among the top five candidates. “I could not qualify the civil services preliminary examination in my first attempt. Then I decided to take the exam again and got selected,” Garg said. He credited his success to his parents.
