INDIANAPOLIS–One person was killed in a crash on the west side of Indianapolis Saturday night. IMPD says it was shortly before 7:30 pm when officers were called to the intersection of West 10th Street and North Glen Arm Road near I-465. They found two vehicles involved in a crash. One of the drivers was ejected from their vehicle after it left the roadway and flipped. That driver was taken to a hospital to an area hospital where they later died. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the crash.

COLUMBUS, OH.–The Indiana Hoosier men’s basketball snapped a two-game losing streak and beat Ohio State Friday night 77-76 in overtime. After shooting only 33% in the first half, the Hoosiers shot 56% in the second half and took a 10-point lead with just over five minutes to play only to see Ohio State storm back to tie the game at 71-71 to force the overtime.

FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. – A second person has been charged in the shooting of an Orange County Deputy on January 3rd. Just before 1am Orange County Deputy Sheriff Zac Andry stopped to check on a disabled vehicle on U.S. Highway 150 and State Road 56. During the interaction, the driver of the car, Austin Schepers, shot the Deputy multiple times before fleeing the scene. Schepers fled to an apartment in New Albany where they believe he was helped by James Adams of Commiskey.

The order prohibits state agencies from supporting DEI programs, procedures, or activities that give preferential treatment based on race, ethnicity, or other factors.

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WISH) — A deer and two chickens have died in the barn of a central Indiana city’s zoo. Zookeepers at the Frankfort Parks Department’s TPA Park Aviary & Petting Zoo also say a “distressed deer” was found Thursday during routine checks of the animals.

INDIANAPOLIS–A woman was found dead at a home on the northwest side of Indianapolis Friday afternoon and a person of interest was detained. IMPD officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Questend Drive South for a death investigation. That’s in a neighborhood off Kessler Boulevard North Drive near Marian University. When they went inside the home, they say they found the woman with trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

KOKOMO, Ind. – Police are looking for a Kokomo man who has been missing for nearly two months, and they need your help to find him. A Silver Alert has been declared for James Adams, who was last seen Sunday, December 1st at 3 a.m. He is described as a 5’9”, 180-pound man with brown hair and hazel eyes. Officers believe Adams may be in “extreme danger,” and in need of medical help. If you see him or know anything about this, please call Kokomo Police at 765-457-1105, or 911.

Rep. Karen Engleman (R-District 70) has authored a bill that would eliminate all fire protection districts and territories across Indiana with the exception of Marion County. Under the current language of House Bill 1233, the county executive would assume the duties of township trustees in providing fire protection and emergency services. Counties would be tasked with adopting a fire plan, with the county emergency management director functioning as the county fire chief.

FRANKFORT, Ind. — Three animals have died at the TPA Park Aviary & Petting Zoo, prompting an investigation. Zoo staff found a deer named Elliott and two chickens dead in a barn, with another deer in distress. Elliott was a favorite among staff, known for playfully swiping gloves and keys. The surviving deer is being treated by Purdue veterinarians, while necropsies are underway to determine what caused the deaths.
