The partners recently came together to watch the site team lay the foundations for the first phase of homes on the development. Planning permission has been granted for a APTUS, an 800,000 sq ft strategic employment site in Preston, which could lead to the creation of 1,500 new jobs. The site, close to J31A of the M6 and Preston City Centre, will be developed by HBD and Barnfield Group. It will feature 12 industrial and logistics units from 25,0000 to 500,000 sq ft of high-specification, sustainable space with Net Zero Carbon capabilities.

Work has begun on developing a bespoke gin bar at Northlight in Brierfield, to be operated by Lancashire distiller Batch Brew. The firm will continue to manufacture its spirits at its Burnley facility, and will use the new location for events such as gin-tasting and cocktail evenings. Once open it will employ ten people. Barnfield has begun the work after planning permission was secured in May.
Developers acquire 25 hectare Preston site

Developers HBD and Barnfield Group have acquired a 25 hectare site in Preston with a view to building an 800,000 sq ft industrial and logistics scheme. The project will see the pair work in partnership with Preston City Council again following the success of the EAST development. This latest site, sitting to the east of the established Roman Way Industrial Estate, is designated as an employment site within the c ouncil’s Local Plan.
