Shortly after the release of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s collaborative album Vultures 2 back in August, Portishead’s Geoff Barrow said that the duo’s song “Field Trip” used a sample of his band’s “Machine Gun” without permission. Now Ye has been hit with a lawsuit regarding another sample on that same album, from an artist who’d like to stay far, far away from his antisemitic and otherwise xenophobic nonsense.

Zendaya has been cast in Be My Baby for A24 with direction from Barry Jenkins. According to Deadline, the California native has been attached to star in the film as Ronnie Spector since 2020, but Barry Jenkins has recently signed on to lend his eye to the project. Spector, who died in 2022, had hand-picked the Golden Globe award-winner to star as her in the film.

Morrissey recently shared a carousel of old photos on his Instagram. Most of the photos are from the ’90s, and they capture Moz with people like the punk singer-songwriter Phranc, his guitarist Gary Day, and the feminist artist Linder Sterling. The final photo in the carousel is not of Morrissey, but of a letter he apparently received from Ron and Russell Mael, his old buddies in Sparks.

But then Ronnie married Phil Spector, who was an erratic abuser who was later convicted of murder and died in prison.
