The board of education at Portland Public Schools is working against the clock to trim the costs of three high school modernization projects, but a discussion on the topic was removed "unilaterally" from its April 22 agenda, according to one board member. Wells, Jefferson, and Cleveland high schools would be modernized if voters approve the $1.8 billion bond question on May 20.

Emergency medical services in Multnomah County are improving, based on data that tracks American Medical Response (AMR) , the company in charge of the county's ambulance service. Multnomah County is roughly 6 months into a temporary staffing requirement change for AMR ambulances that respond to life-threatening calls. Normally the county requires those trucks to have two paramedics.
