WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A veteran who spent two decades in the Navy, specialized in electronic warfare and managed to retire by the age of 38. Wichita native Gaylen Klein made that uncle proud when he followed in his footsteps and enlisted in the Navy in 1975. “I had an uncle that retired in the Navy as a Master Chief, and I kind of looked up to him for that,” he said. Klein soon found himself training in electronic warfare.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct the location of the crash. WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in west Wichita Saturday evening. The accident occurred around 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of Kansas Highway 42 and Tyler. According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation indicates that a Dodge Challenger was traveling eastbound on K-42 and attempting to turn north onto Tyler.
