Introduction Previous studies established a critical role of psychosocial stress (PS) on innate immunity [1-3]. A pioneering report revealed that stress increased the number of Ly6Chigh, but not Ly6Clow blood monocytes, as well as neutrophils [1]. PS promoted bone marrow (BM) myelopoiesis resulting in augmented hematopoietic stem cells, monocyte, and neutrophil numbers in stressed mice [1].
