CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - A new bill is looking to officially sanction the sport of lacrosse in Nevada high schools. Lacrosse is currently a club sport. A hearing was held for SB 305 at the Legislature on Monday with dozens of lacrosse players on hand to show their support. “A lot of people don’t take lacrosse as serious as it should be taken,” said Reno High senior Lacrosse captain Maggie Grimes.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Peppermill’s Tuscany ballroom will be full this week, with the annual convention of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. The group’s president is Don Maston, who says rural letter carriers and those who work in the cities basically do the same job, they are just represented by two different unions. Rural letter carriers don’t wear uniforms, but often do deliver in the suburbs.

It is an attraction that has been in this location since 2021, and It's a hall of fame that doesn't feature any inductions - just plenty of nostalgia.

It's a task though, that is easier said than done. Reno police have told us on several occasions that arresting homeless people doesn't always change things. As they ultimately end up right back in the same place after punishment occurs. So, the primary goal becomes outreach, not enforcement.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The inaugural indoor classic showcase is now where the best of the best get displayed at Hot August Nights. "Out of all the 5500 cars that are here we got to be a part of the top 12, and that is pretty amazing," said Rick Maharaj of Brentwood, California who brought his 1961 Impala to Reno for the week. It's called the Indoor Classic Showcase, putting 12 cars on display inside the Reno Events Center along with the big boys toy store.
