ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Faith. Some may say faith is something you can’t see. But what if you could see the impacts of faith? In the past five years, the Diocese of Alexandria saw a decrease in people entering the church locally. During the pandemic, attendance at Mass was low, with only 27 new members entering the church in 2022. But now, in 2024, the Diocese of Alexandria is seeing a huge jump in new members, with 92 people planning to enter the church this Easter. So, why the increase?

For Naomi Heights Nursing Home residents, carols ringing through the air did just that!For their annual Christmas tea, Naomi Heights residents got a few special visitors. Holy Savior Menard softball and baseball players joined in the celebrations, performing a skit, singing along to Christmas carols, enjoying a good meal and participating in a little stiff competition.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Finding fresh Christmas trees around Central Louisiana can be a challenge. This year, you will have at least one more place to pick out your perfect Christmas fir. T’s Trees is now open on Versailles Boulevard, right across the road from BJ’s Pizza. It is a new tree business owned and operated by an Alexandria local. Cana Trahan and her husband started the business last year in Breaux Bridge before deciding to bring the holiday spirit to Central Louisiana.
