    When I watched Arcane‘s first season, I felt it was a masterpiece, a complete success in terms of story, themes, music and character building. It was difficult for me to imagine it away from the pantheon of animated giants like Toy Storyand Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

    hello world!It’s been a quarter of a century since the original Gladiator hit cinema screens. The film, directed by Ridley Scott, achieved massive critical acclaim and earned nearly every award you could think of. It’s a cinematic classic (that I only watched recently. Plz don’t shoot me). But that story had a definitive end, with Maximus (Russel Crowe) and Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) dead.

    hello world!Fighting games have a long history of characters that can be considered too powerful. Some are so powerful that their power seems far past the intended character balance. Marvel vs Capcom 2 is one of the best examples where 10%  of the characters are so above the rest of the roster that they can’t hold a candle in a professional setting.

    Luigi, Mario’s taller brother, is often seen as just that, Mario’s taller brother. Usually relegated to spin-off titles and the character you pick when your older sibling picks Mario (to be fair, I’m more of a Toad man myself). But over the last few Nintendo consoles, that has changed. Not only has he been a big part of the Mario & Luigi series, but he’s also received a trilogy of his own games, Luigi’s Mansion.

    Trading card games (TCGs) have seen a boom in popularity in recent years. People have loved collecting pieces of cardboard with cool art and then playing games using those cards. Everything about TCGs scratches that little itch in my brain that makes me want to keep buying more (even when I probably shouldn’t). And because all you need to create a TCG is a good idea and some interesting art, loads of Kickstarter campaigns and indie game studios have thrown their hat into the TCG market.
