It’s the battle of the Netflix quarterbacks as Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) take on Kirk Cousins’ Minnesota Vikings (1-3). These teams are on an opposite trajectory to begin the season. While the Chiefs started with a loss and then won three in a row, the Vikings kicked off with three losses in a row followed by its first win. It’s notable, however, that Minnesota’s three losses came within six points or less, meaning the team is close to finding its footing.

It was a facemask call on Jawaan Taylor, who was called for two penalties again tonight, that was the turning point in the game and gave New York the momentum. The referees deemed that the facemask was committed in the end zone, resulting in a safety. After that, the Jets defense led by Quincy Williams and his 11 tackles, and the Jets offense led by Zach Wilson, got hot. The safety led to a New York field goal and then a touchdown after Mahomes’ first pick of the night.

Yet another anticipated clash between Patrick Mahomes vs. Aaron Rodgers has been halted due to an injury to the Jets’ quarterback, but the Kansas City Chiefs (2-1) and New York Jets (1-2) will face off on Sunday Night Football this weekend anyway. After a one-point Week 1 loss against the Lions, the Chiefs are finally rolling with a win over the Jaguars and a blowout last week vs. the Bears.

The defense was business as usual. After only allowing two touchdowns across eight quarters of football, they only allowed one today. Even that one was in garbage time with just over four minutes left in the game. The unit was a big part of the Chiefs taking a 34-0 lead into halftime. The Bears were tied for 30th in the league coming into the game, allowing 10 sacks through the first two weeks. That trend continued this week, as the Chiefs' pass rush took advantage, sacking Justin Fields three times.
