The Kansas City Chiefs began training camp indoors at Missouri Western State University Aug. 4. Thunderstorms kept the team inside for the first half of practice before making their way to the outdoor field for the second half. "So as long as there’s no lightning, it’s all good,” coach Andy Reid said. “We’ll come out and work, and somewhere that will pay off for us down the road.”Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is preparing for his fourth season with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs did not take the most straight and narrow path to victory, however. The Chiefs were up 7-6 at halftime even after turning the ball over three times. A muffed punt from Richie James deep in the Chiefs' own territory led to three of those points. The offensive line also struggled with plenty of false starts and holding penalties. The Chiefs managed to lose the penalty battle 12-2, as well as the turnover battle 3-1 and still come away with the victory.

It’s been nearly 13 years since Kansas State headed east to take on Mizzou at Farrot Field in Columbia. The Tigers took down the Wildcats 38-28, defeating K-State for the fifth consecutive time. On Saturday, the Tigers look to not just shake off a 40-12 drubbing in Manhattan from a season ago, they’re also looking to stop a 3-game losing streak against the spread (ATS) against the Wildcats as well.

We never thought the Chiefs would need a “get-right game” as early as Week 2, but alas, here we are. The Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) are set to take on AFC South leader Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) in a rematch of the 2022-23 divisional round. The Chiefs hope to bounce back after their disappointing (and surprising) Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions, while the Jags hope to keep their momentum alive after beating the Indianapolis Colts to start their season.

If there is one silver lining, it is that Travis Kelce’s injury kept him out of this game, but it seems like it is going to be short-term. Kansas City looked exactly like a team that was forced to change its game plan two days before the game after preparing to feature Kelce for the last month and change. “Yeah, I mean you’re losing one of the best, I think the best tight end of all time, but other guys got to step up,” Mahomes said.
