Atlético Madrid expect to finalize a deal for U.S. national team midfielder Johnny Cardoso this week, sources tell GIVEMESPORT. The deal will be for€30 million plus another €2 million in add-ons, sources add. Marca first reported the deal was close. GIVEMESPORT initially revealed in May that Atleti were leading the race to sign Cardoso. Cardoso is currently on international duty with the USMNT, who are into the knockout rounds of the Gold Cup.

Brentford are closing in on appointing Keith Andrews as their new manager, GMS understands. The Irishman is in advanced talks over stepping up from set-piece coach to replace new Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank in the Gtech Community Stadium hot-seat. The 44-year-old was appointed to Bees' coaching staff in July 2024, having also worked at Sheffield United as an assistant, but he has never had a managerial role.

Watford are nearing a loan deal for Chelsea and USMNT full-back Caleb Wiley, sources tell GIVEMESPORT. Sky Sports' Luca Bendoni first reported the deal. Wiley, 20, spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Watford, where he registered one assist in 10 appearances in the EFL Championship. Watford finished 14th in the Championship table.
