Melfort native Zac Somers had a hat trick to lift the Mustangs over the Edmundston Blizzard by a score of 5-3. “Gotta give credit to Edmundston, they played with a lot of pace and jam, and we didn’t have a good first period. In the second and third, though, we found a way, and that’s the biggest thing.

Melfort dropped their opening game against the host Calgary Canucks on Thursday by a score of 3-1. Now, they’ll face the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) champion Edmundston Blizzard, with puck drop set for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
