Differences Between Sizes And Variants We bought and tested the 65-inch Hisense Sony BRAVIA 5, but most of our results should also be valid for the 55, 75, and 85-inch models. However, based on some results from other reviewers, it seems like there's an increase in brightness as the size of the TV increases. The 98-inch model reportedly also has a big increase in dimming zones, so most of our results aren't valid for that size.

The Sony BRAVIA 8 II uses a unique subpixel structure. Instead of having all three subpixels in a row, each pixel forms a triangle, with the larger green subpixel at the top. This leads to color fringing; on a bright window on a Windows PC, you might notice a green fringe at the top since that's where the green subpixel is. Similarly, there's a purple fringe at the bottom of bright windows, as that's where the red and blue subpixels are.

Compared To Other TVs The Hisense U8QG is a worthy successor to the 2024 Hisense U8/U8N. It's even brighter and has a solid uptick in contrast compared to the 2024 model. It's also loaded with modern features and attempts to cater to PC gamers with its USB-C alt-display port and high refresh rates. However, the TV's gaming performance is a bit held back by the fact that VRR and 1080p @ 288Hz both don't work when using the USB-C port.
