Compared To Other TVs The Hisense U75QG is a very good TV for most people. It's especially impressive when it comes to sheer brightness, as it's one of the brightest TVs ever at its price range. Unfortunately, it has a very crushing weakness, as its PQ EOTF tracking is quite poor, and its pixel transitions are very slow, even for an LED TV.

The Sony BRAVIA 8 II uses a unique subpixel structure. Instead of having all three subpixels in a row, each pixel forms a triangle, with the larger green subpixel at the top. This leads to color fringing; on a bright window on a Windows PC, you might notice a green fringe at the top since that's where the green subpixel is. Similarly, there's a purple fringe at the bottom of bright windows, as that's where the red and blue subpixels are.

Differences Between Sizes And Variants We bought and tested the 65-inch QD-OLED Samsung S85F, and these results are also valid for the 55-inch model. It's also available in 77 and 83-inch options, but those use WOLED panels, so they perform differently. Compared To Other TVs The Amazon Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series is a good TV overall, with no real weaknesses perhaps outside of its color accuracy, SDR color volume, and rather uneven pixel transitions. As good as it is, it's outpriced and outperformed by the Hisense U7N and the TCL QM7/QM751G QLED, with the TCL being an especially good buy due to its higher peak brightness, more colorful display, and faster gaming performance.

Overall, the TV's processing keeps up very well with fast-moving objects, and lighting zone transitions aren't very noticeable, with minimal haloing. Still, small bright objects get so dim with rapid movement that they almost disappear, which is disappointing on a TV with this many dimming zones. It has a Fast Backlight Control feature meant to improve zone transitions. However, it greatly reduces the TV's peak brightness when enabled, and it doesn't work in Game Mode or with VRR enabled.

6.9 Mixed Usage The TCL Q550F is an okay TV for mixed usage. The TV's contrast is decent, but its HDR brightness is just alright, so it's not very good for dark room usage or for watching HDR content as bright highlights don't really pop, and blacks are raised whenever bright highlights are on screen. On the other hand, its SDR brightness is quite decent, and it has good reflection handling, so it's a solid pick for watching SDR content in a moderately lit room.
