    A new-to-Omaha brewery opens this weekend in La Vista. Corn Coast Brewing Co., based in Lincoln, has a taproom at 10717 Virginia Plaza. A grand opening was set for 10 a.m. Saturday. The company’s website, corncoastbrewing.com, said it’s a Nano brewery that specializes in modern IPAs, heavily fruited seltzers, and “crushable” light and classic style beers.

    The Spice & Tea Exchange is now open at Village Pointe shopping center near 168th Street and West Dodge Road. The business is locally owned and offers more than 85 hand-mixed spice blends, plus gourmet sugars, salts and loose-leaf teas. It also has a selection of gifts for tea lovers and foodies. Brewed teas also are available at the store. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.

    The Legacy Farmers Market is no more. It moved south from Village Pointe at 168th Street and West Dodge Road to Shops of Legacy near 168th Street and West Center Road a couple of years ago. “We were hopeful to continue our market for years but the difficult decision has been made and (we) will not be returning,” organizers said on Facebook.

    Omaha chef David Utterback is once again a nominee in the final stage of the James Beard Awards competition. Utterback was nominated for best chef Midwest, which includes Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. He was cited for his work at Ota and Yoshitomo, his restaurants in Benson. He also has a restaurant — Koji — in Countryside Village near 87th and Pacific Streets.
