BATTLE CREEK — The Battle Jacks have a new owner. He is passionate about baseball and, in his short time being introduced to the city, he is already passionate about Battle Creek. The Battle Creek Battle Jacks are heading into a new chapter with the arrival of Scott Miles, the club's new owner. It was announced Wednesday that Miles purchased the team from Brian Colopy, who also owns and operates the rival Kalamazoo Growlers.

The Climax-Scotts/St. Philip co-op baseball and softball teams will wear St. Philip uniforms for the All-City tournaments. The decision to wear St. Philip colors is meant to foster team unity and honor St. Philip's athletic history. The teams hope the gesture will encourage more St. Philip students to join the co-op programs. BATTLE CREEK - The St. Philip colors have not been seen at the All-City Baseball or All-City Softball Tournament for years. This year, the Tigers are back.

BATTLE CREEK — Bragging rights for the third year in a row go to Lakeview as the Spartans won the 2025 All-City Lacrosse Tournament. Lakeview is the all-city champ for the third straight time after the Spartans defeated Harper Creek, 9-5, in the tournament final on May 5 at Harper Creek High School. "This was important," Lakeview coach Jerry Haadsma said. "We have won all-city three in a row. And, seven of the last nine years we have defended it.
