Temperatures on Tuesday morning will start in the mid-50s before returning to the mid-to-upper 60s in the afternoon in the Philadelphia region. The winds will increase through Tuesday afternoon, with gusts expected up to around 30-35 mph. There could also be a few isolated showers that develop. Once the showers end, cooler air from the north will begin to knock temps down. It will be much cooler on Wednesday morning than on Tuesday morning.

Mixed weather in the Philadelphia region with heavy rain and possible snow away from the city What time of year is it? Normal high temps should be in the mid-low 60s around the region. Saturday will bring high temps, a solid 20 degrees colder than that. Add some wind to it and we will likely stay in the 30s with the chill most of the day. Couple that with overcast skies and it will be a great day to spend time inside.

Clouds and chilly temps will be the rule for the next few days as a weather maker moves through the Philadelphia region. The Friday morning commute will likely have scattered showers, but the rain will be picking up significantly come Friday afternoon and evening, with 1-2 inches of rain by early Saturday morning. Residents in the Philadelphia region should be prepared for wet roads and a slow commute, especially Friday evening.

Thursday will continue the below-normal stretch of weather we've been having as of late with temperatures running at least 10 degrees below average in the low 50s in the Philadelphia region. Highs should be in the low 60s this time of year when looking at the 30-year normal. There will be cloudy skies and isolated showers on Thursday as the first of two disturbances crosses our area.

On Wednesday morning, while the winds will decrease slightly, we'll bottom out below freezing in most areas in the Philadelphia region. It will be the coldest morning in over a month, and likely the final day below freezing for the season. It's not certain, though, as we've had a freezing temperature as late as May 11 in Philly back in 1966. While sunshine will blanket the region on Wednesday, our next system approaches on Thursday, with an increase in cloud cover and a few late-day showers.
