NEW YORK -- It appeared that something was clicking on the mound with left-hander Carson Palmquist, the Rockies’ No. 8 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He was dominating the Mets for three innings on Sunday afternoon, eventually striking out a career-high eight, but the gopher ball proved costly in a 5-3 loss at Citi Field. The Rockies were swept in the three-game series and became the first team in the Major Leagues to 50 losses in 2025.

NEW YORK -- The Rockies are on a streak -- a streak they don’t want any part of. By losing to the Mets, 8-2, on Saturday at Citi Field, Colorado extended its MLB-record streak to 22 consecutive series defeats, spanning back to last September. The Rockies also became the first team since the 1995 Marlins (8-24) to enter June with fewer than 10 wins. Colorado is now 9-49.

NEW YORK -- Rockies first baseman Michael Toglia was supposed to have a breakout season in 2025 after hitting 25 home runs in 116 games last year.

NEW YORK – The Rockies, badly needing a spark on offense, activated second baseman Thairo Estrada from the 60-day injured list on Friday to make his regular-season debut against the Mets at Citi Field. Estrada missed the first two months of the season after he suffered a fractured right wrist from a pitch thrown by Rangers right-hander Kumar Rocker on March 20. At the time of the injury, Estrada was 14-for-35 (.400) with seven RBIs in Spring Training.
