LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Warmer temperatures are expected for Wednesday, but overall, below average temperatures headline the forecast for the next several days with highs in the 60s and 70s across the state. Tonight, look for fairly quiet conditions across the state with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The National Weather Service office in Omaha has revised the rating for one of the Arbor Day tornadoes that struck eastern Nebraska and western Iowa in late April of this year. Specifically, the tornado that tracked from Elkhorn into Bennington and Blair was originally rated as an EF-3 tornado with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph. After a thorough review, the NWS has upgraded that rating to EF-4 with maximum sustained winds of 170 mph.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The forecast continues to be headlined by heat and thunderstorm chance as we move through the second half of the week and into Father’s Day weekend. We’re basically looking at daily chances for showers and thunderstorms - though it doesn’t look like any one day will be a wash out. Any weekend plans for Father’s Day, the College World Series, or otherwise shouldn’t be cancelled - but I’d certainly keep an eye on the forecast into the busy weekend.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - It was a noisy night across the state as severe storms swept from Ogallala and North Platte all the way through Lincoln, Omaha and much of eastern Nebraska. We had numerous storm reports stretching across the state, including multiple tornado reports across southwestern Nebraska and east central parts of the state. Thunderstorms also produced numerous reports of wind damage across the southern parts of the state.

(KOLN) - After a very busy stretch of weather from Monday evening lasting into Tuesday afternoon, quieter conditions are forecast for the remainder of our Tuesday with a pretty nice day on tap for our Wednesday. Unfortunately, the forecast is still headlined by more thunderstorm chances late this week and into the Memorial Day weekend. Strong west and northwest winds are expected through Tuesday afternoon and evening in the wake of a departing cold front and low pressure system.
