Exposure to repetitive head impacts (RHIs) in contact sports is associated with neurodegenerative disorders including chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) which currently can be diagnosed only at postmortem. American football players are at higher risk of developing CTE given their exposure to RHIs. One promising approach for diagnosing CTE in vivo is to explore known neuropathological abnormalities at postmortem in living individuals using structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

1 INTRODUCTION Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has one of the lowest survival rate of all major cancer and is projected to become the second common cause of cancer related death by 2030.1, 2 These dismal statistics are due to many factors, including shortcomings in current management of PDAC. Most PDAC patients have advanced disease at the time of diagnosis. Only 20% of the patients could be offered surgery, the only potentially curative-intent therapy.

Traditionally, AD diagnosis was based solely on clinical criteria; however, current guidelines for AD diagnosis also consider the presence of biologic markers. For the neuropathologic diagnosis of AD using biomarkers, the National Institute on Aging and Alzheimer's Association (NIA-AA) “ATN” research framework can be used [23].
