I don’t read fashion magazines or go to fashion “events” to see what trends are happening. Instead, I’ve been spending my time in doctor’s waiting rooms getting checked in by desk gals who sport seven-inch nails and five-inch eyelashes and waist-length purple coiled hair extensions. Trust me, medical front desks are beauty front lines. No wonder Sephora is doing better than Nordstroms. But it’s the nail explosion that has really taken off.

I didn’t think New York Fashion Week still existed. Last week it was reported that over the past decade, the garment biz has taken a hit with a loss of over 50,000 jobs, low enrollment in design schools and the overall feeling that NYC has lost its star standing as THE fashion Mecca. CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The production companies accused of spreading false rumors about Alex Murdaugh’s eldest son have elevated the ongoing litigation to federal court. In new court filings on Tuesday, attorneys for companies associated with Netflix claimed it was an appropriate move due to their places of business being outside of South Carolina. The other defendants that represent HBO, Discovery+ and the Hampton County Guardian are also on board with the change of venue.

Last month I watched two documentaries that enlightened me about two female icons. In two very different ways. They were Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge (Hulu) and Faye (HBO) about Faye Dunaway and her body of work. Neither films were infomercials, but both let you see sides of their enormous personalities in very personal ways.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has identified the suspect in an officer-involved shooting that happened at a West Ashley apartment complex Tuesday night. Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Harper Lawrence-Weiland, who faces a charge from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division of first-degree burglary. An arrest warrant states Lawrence-Weiland broke into an apartment and stole clothes and a handgun.
