Raising Cane's is expected to open in Wethersfield on June 24, according to police. The popular chicken restaurant will open its doors on the Silas Deane Highway where a Denny's used to operate. Police said the opening date is subject to change. Raising Cane's received approval to open at the location last summer. Famous for its chicken fingers, Raising Cane's has already opened in Enfield and Simsbury. Both openings caused significant traffic issues for the first few weeks of operation.

A bear put on quite a show for a family in Simsbury, Connecticut. The bear decided to have some fun on the family's backyard playscape. The bear climbed the ladder of the playscape and then took a ride down the slide to the family's delight. A second bear can be seen in the video lounging on the ground underneath the playscape, but didn't seem interested in joining in the fun.

The 2025 season for the Hartford Yard Goats begins at Dunkin' Park on Friday. Fans have long enjoyed many of the interesting food offerings around the park and they will get a chance to try some new items this year. The Yard Goats introduced the menu lineup at Dunkin Park on Wednesday.

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) said Thursday it has no records related to the family of a man who told police he was held captive inside a Waterbury home since the age of 11. He is now 32 years old. He was found in the home on Blake Street in Waterbury in February after emergency crews responded to a fire at the home. The man told first responders he set the fire in an attempt to escape. He weighed 68 pounds at the time he was found, according to police.

Legendary guitarist Eric Clapton is making Connecticut one of his stops on a limited tour of the U.S. in September. The three-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will take the stage at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sept. 20, for the last date of the U.S. leg of the six-show tour, which also includes stops in Nashville, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York.
