The city of Rochester is FUBARed. Today, stuttering behind a lectern, the mayor condemned a handful of city cops for backing up law enforcement officers who called for help. It was Malik at his worst, it was progressivism at its most disgusting. In a city where the murder of a legal immigrant hasn’t elicited a response from City Hall or the Sixth Floor, the mayor and the chief have taken some 10 cops off the street because of the handcuffing of two illegal immigrants.

I had intended to run down South Avenue, maybe to Elmwood, and come back through Mount Hope, cross the Ford Street Bridge and head back on Exchange and then Broad. But on the corner of MLK, across from the ESL building, I heard the screaming of the sirens. It was chiefs’ trucks, SUVs, from the fire department. You can tell by the sound.
