It is one of the few 19th-century lighthouses remaining on the Gulf Coast. The Lighthouse has survived many storms, including major Hurricanes in 1900 and 1915. In 1900, 125 brave souls found shelter in the Lighthouse to ride the hurricane out. Amy Chase, the Director of the Bolivar Point Lighthouse Foundation, loves sharing its history.

    KATY, Texas (KTRK) -- A year of frustration turned into a day of celebration for Katy resident Tine Curry. A year ago, her house was damaged, costing her $2800. On Monday, she found out from AT&T that she would be reimbursed. "I feel wonderful," Curry said with a huge smile. Her ordeal started on a March morning in 2024 when she saw workers arrive at her home. "They were in my backyard. I saw them working, but I didn't acknowledge them.

    SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- It has been a frustrating several weeks for Luciano Cantu who has lived with his family in their Spring home for over 20 years. There is a Comcast hub box near his back fence. He doesn't use Comcast, but lines are run from the box to his neighbors. "It happened in January when it was freezing 20 degrees outside. We lost power. Comcast was digging and burying lines. Water got into the broken line and cut my power off," Cantu said. Cantu said he immediately called CenterPoint.

    GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Tutu Live Krewe is more than just a dance group. They call themselves a sisterhood, supporting each other and the Galveston community. "We do food collections for the Galveston County Food Bank during the holidays. We donate a lot to our Galveston Police Department Blue Santa program." Founder Donna Swartz said. Swartz formed Tutu Live Krewe in 2016, the first all-female Krewe in Galveston. Today, there are about 80 dancers and 50 more women in support roles.
