It would be the eighth Houston-area Trader Joe's store, following the popular grocery chain opening its sixth in Sugar Land last fall. Trader Joe’s has set its eyes on Cypress for a possible eighth Houston-area store — and its third in the works in the past year. The popular Monrovia, California-based grocery store chain has applied for a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code permit for a store at 9715 Towne Lake Parkway, according to an entry in the Daily Court Review on April 1.

Missouri City is currently in land sale negotiations with a community college for a mixed-use project it hopes will revitalize its downtown. Missouri City could be getting a mixed-use downtown district. The southwest Houston suburb has been working on development plans with Fort Bend County and Houston Community College for the past three years, according to a resolution passed by the county’s Commissioner Court earlier this month.

Half a year after opening Angel Lagoon in Dayton, the company is making progress on the development of its second fully public “Crystal Lagoon” entertainment district, this time west of Magnolia in Waller County.
