The first season of Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull has been shortlisted for the People’s Telly Award. The show, produced by Werner G+E LLC and hosted by Funny Car driver Buddy Hull, aired nine episodes on the NHRA’s FAST channel, beginning with the debut episode featuring Ron Capps on July 31. The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens, and public voting for the People’s Telly Award opens today and runs through April 18.

Top names in street car drag racing are set to compete at Rockingham Dragway this Friday and Saturday for Sick At The Rock, presented by Motion Raceworks. The Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series kicks off its 11th season with the East Coast Nationals at GALOT Motorsports Park from April 2-5. Participants will compete for nearly $200,000 in championship prizes across professional, sportsman, and Junior Dragster categories. Series director Tyler Crossnoe announced increased championship payouts, with an additional $100,000 this season. “The racers in our headlining divisions will get to compete for a $25,000 championship bonus this season,” he said.
