BEAVERTON, Ore. (KPTV) - Students at a Beaverton middle school are designing prosthetics that could help a paralyzed dog named Ember. The project is all part of a hands-on and heartwarming STEM challenge at Valley Catholic Middle School. For their STEM final exam, 7th grade students built a working prototype of a prosthetic device out of recycled materials to help 16-week-old Ember, who fracture her spine in an accident, leaving her back legs paralyzed.
