    STATESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) – A teen armed with a gun threatened to “shoot up” a church when the man he attempted to rob refused to give him anything, Iredell County authorities said. Deputies were called to Bethlehem Road on Friday, Feb. 2, after the man reported the teen trying to rob him at gunpoint while he was working outside, according to information from the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

    HICKORY, N.C. (WBTV/AP) – Two Hickory parents have filed a lawsuit against a fruit pouch manufacturer after their two young children were allegedly exposed to high levels of lead in the products. The Jan. 25 lawsuit brought by Nicole Peterson and Thomas Duong names WanaBana and Dollar Tree among the defendants. According to the suit, the parents started buying WanaBana apple cinnamon fruit puree pouches from a Dollar Tree in February 2023 for their then 1- and 3-year-old children.
