    A sea swimmer who died in a tragedy off the Kent coast has been named by his devastated family. The 20-year-old man’s disappearance at the Port of Dover sparked a huge search on May 3 – with the coastguard helicopter, police and lifeboats scrambled to the scene.     A gran is urging people to stop blocking footpaths with their bins after her mobility scooter tipped over into the road and she broke her leg. Denise Aaron remains in hospital more than a week after the accident near Faversham Recreation Ground, which left her needing surgery on her fractured femur. The fiercely independent 82-year-old had been trying to travel along the pavement in Orchard Place but her route was blocked by wheelie bins, forcing her to reverse.

    Footage has captured the moment a car ploughed into a unit at a business park - right in front of police. Officers had been called to the John Wilson estate in Chestfield, Whitstable, following reports of a disturbance. A video shows a man getting into a car parked in front of a unit which appears to belong to a local biker group called Rejects Brotherhood. The vehicle then reverses, before being driven through the shutters - just yards from a police patrol car called to the scene.

    A young girl was taken to hospital after being struck by a car during the school run. Police and paramedics were called to Thorne Road, Minster, near Ramsgate, following the collision. Emergency services arrived at about 3.30pm on Tuesday and the youngster was taken to hospital for treatment. An ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.25pm yesterday to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Thorne Road in Minster.

    Four people have been arrested after a seafront brawl broke out - with a police officer among those assaulted. Bobbies on the beat in Margate town centre were alerted to a disturbance involving a group of people in the Marine Gardens area shortly before 5.30pm yesterday. One picture taken at the scene shows officers pinning two people to the ground. A police spokesperson said: “A 29-year-old man from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of assault.
