    MEXIA, Texas (KWTX) - A questionable death at Lake Mexia is under investigation, according to Limestone County Sheriff Murray Agnew. The body of a woman was spotted in the lake around 4 p.m. on June 2 near FM 3437, Agnew said. Deputies, the game warden and other first responders arrived at the lake to pull the body out of the water. The woman’s name was not released to the public. No further information is available at this time.

    CENTRAL, Texas (KWTX) - On May 21, first responders gathered to honor EMS responders who lost their lives in the line of duty. Central Texas recently lost paramedic Jim Lyons, who dedicated his life to serving Falls County in November 2024. Jim provided EMS service to Falls County residents for nearly 25 years as the founder of Falls County EMS Inc. Jim, along with 22 others who have fallen in the line of duty, were honored at the Waco Suspension Bridge today.

    WACO, Texas (KWTX) - La Vega Independent School District has announced its Seamless Summer Option 2025 Summer Feeding Program, which provides free meals to all children. The program will launch Monday, June 2, and run through July 24. Every Monday through Thursday, the Seamless Summer Option Feeding Program offers free breakfasts and lunches to children of all ages. Regardless of where students live or go to school, children will be provided a free meal. No paperwork is required to receive a meal.
