ARDEN-ARCADE – Some homes have been evacuated after deputies said an armed suspect broke into a Sacramento County home and is refusing to exit. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said the suspect entered a home along Oterol Court and is armed with a gun. Deputies said he's refusing to exit and he's alone in the home. This forced deputies to evacuate surrounding homes for the time being. Oterol Court is in Arden-Arcade, off Eastern Avenue, just south of Whitney Avenue. This is a developing story.

PIX Now morning edition 5-11-25 A motorcyclist died in a crash that caused traffic to back up on Interstate 880 near the Oakland Coliseum on Sunday evening, the California Highway Patrol said. Officers received reports of a crash around 4:40 p.m. that involved a motorcyclist and a vehicle on southbound I-880 near Hegenberger Road. The CHP said the motorcyclist died at the scene. The two right lanes of the highway are blocked and it's unknown when they will reopen.

PIX Now morning edition 5/10/25 San Jose firefighters say they're battling a fire that involves three mobile homes, sending a plume of smoke into the air late Saturday afternoon. Crews said the fire, which is threatening a fourth mobile home, is on the 500 block of Hermitage Lane in North San Jose. The first call came in around 4:15 p.m. No injuries have been reported. Hermitage Lane is near N First Street and E Tasman Drive. This is a developing story. In: San Jose

ELK GROVE – Investigators believe speed and alcohol were a factor in a single-vehicle crash that killed a 23-year-old driver in Elk Grove Saturday morning, police said. The Elk Grove Police Department responded to Elk Grove Boulevard between McKenna Drive and Backer Rank Road around 5:30 Saturday morning. Officers said they found a vehicle that had crashed into a tree and the driver, a 23-year-old man, had died. The driver's identification has not been released.

PIX Now afternoon edition 5-9-25 A 64-year-old Hayward man riding a bike died after he was hit by a vehicle near Chabot College on Friday morning, police said. The Hayward Police Department responded to Depot Road and Adrian Avenue just after 10:15 a.m. for reports that a vehicle and a motorized bike were involved in a crash. Police said the driver, a 35-year-old man who does not live in Hayward, remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.
