A man who was rushed to a hospital after a multiple-vehicle crash near downtown Sacramento died Sunday evening, police said. Shortly after 7 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department said the area near 16th Street and E Street was closed due to a crash. Police said there were reports of a three-vehicle crash and that one person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. In an update around 9 p.m., police said the man died at the hospital. His identification has not been released.

Two people were critically injured and five others suffered minor injuries after a vehicle and a Sacramento Regional Transit bus crashed on Sunday afternoon, police said. The crash happened in the area of Auburn Boulevard and Marconi Circle around 4:30 p.m.Police said two people inside a Honda CR-V suffered critical injuries and five people on the bus suffered minor injuries. The Coast Guard said a gold Chris-Craft boat capsized due to a large swell around 3 p.m. near D.L. Bliss State Park. Six adults died, two people were rescued and taken to the hospital and two others are missing, officials said.

A man is accused of DUI and hit-and-run after a pedestrian was killed in a collision early Sunday morning in Modesto, police said. The collision happened around 1:30 a.m. near Yosemite Boulevard and Severin Avenue. Police said a pedestrian was crossing the road when she was struck by a Toyota traveling west on Yosemite Boulevard. The pedestrian was found unresponsive at the scene and was taken to a hospital, where she later died, police said.
