RANCHO CORDOVA – Driving under the influence is suspected to be a factor in a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Rancho Cordova Sunday evening, authorities said. Around 6:30 p.m., deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and firefighters from Sacramento Metro responded to Data Drive near the Chesapeake Commons for reports of a crash. Deputies said a motorcyclist involved in the crash was rushed to the hospital where the rider later died.

PIX Now morning edition 4-6-25 The operator of a tractor is suspected of driving under the influence after a 3-year-old died when they were struck by the tractor on private property in Sonoma County Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The California Highway Patrol said it responded to the 3100 block of Skillman Lane, located just outside of Petaluma city limits, around 12:30 p.m. Sunday for reports of a deadly crash on private property.

AMADOR COUNTY – An injured snowmobiler was rescued from the Sierra high country in Amador County on Saturday. The Amador County Fire Department responded to an area near Mud Lake on Highway 88 around 2 p.m. where crews hiked about two miles to reach the injured snowmobiler. Crews said the man suffered major injuries while riding a snowmobile in the backcountry. The California Highway Patrol's H-20 helicopter was used to transport the rider to the hospital.

GRANITE BAY – Driving under the influence is suspected in a crash that killed two people in Granite Bay early Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash was around 3:15 a.m. on Eureka Road east of Bridle Path Lane. Officers said a green BMW M3 was traveling west on Eureka Road at high speeds when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree. The driver and passenger died at the scene, officers said. Their identities have not been released but officers said they were both males.

DAVIS – Seven students and five recent graduate students of UC Davis had their visas terminated by the federal government, the university said on Saturday. The university is providing resources for those impacted and says the situation remains fluid as the number of affected students may change. "The federal government has not explained the reasons behind these terminations," UC Davis said in a statement.
