    SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A person was killed in a vehicle collision late Saturday morning near Del Paso Heights, the Sacramento Police Department said. The crash happened near the Rio Linda Boulevard and North Avenue intersection around 11:30 a.m., according to police. Police say the other party involved in the crash has remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

    ELK GROVE, Calif. — A driver was found dead after their vehicle crashed into a tree early Saturday morning in Elk Grove, according to police. The Elk Grove Police Department said the crash was reported at approximately 5:27 a.m. near the intersection of Elk Grove Boulevard and Backer Ranch Road. Officers arrived to find the driver dead inside the vehicle. The driver's identity has not yet been released. An investigation is ongoing.
