The first full month of the high school baseball season is officially in the books. Over the first few weeks, there were plenty of memorable games and terrific individual moments. As we now get into May, teams are beginning their postseason push. There are county and conference tournaments, while teams are battling for division titles and looking to secure the best playoff berths possible for when the state tournament begins in just a few weeks.

Hunterdon Central is one step away from starting another championship streak. The Red Devils strung together three consecutive Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament titles between 2021 and 2023 but had hopes of a four-peat dashed by a loss to North Hunterdon in last year’s quarterfinal. With a dominant team performance on Saturday, Hunterdon Central has set up a date with its rival up the road.
