KINGSTON, N.Y. — The city hopes to install speed cameras that can issue tickets to speeding drivers in select school zones in the city by the start of the 2025-2026 school year this fall. Mayor Steve Noble told members of the city’s Police Commission at a Wednesday, June 18, meeting that city has already gone out to bid for the cameras and is doing interviews with potential suppliers, with a decision expected to be made soon.

KINGSTON, N.Y. — Embattled Kingston Police Sgt. Eric J. VanAllen will be able to return to work after a “disciplinary settlement” was reached between him and the city, Kingston Police Chief Egidio Tinti said after a Police Commission executive session on Wednesday, June 18. The Police Commission voted unanimously to allow Mayor Steve Noble to enter into the disciplinary settlement with VanAllen. VanAllen was charged in December with driving while intoxicated.
