A 16-year-old female was arrested in Columbia County on Thursday for making a false kidnapping report to police. New York State Police say they responded to a 911 call for a report of a possible kidnapping in the Town of Stockport. Officials say the 16-year-old caller claimed a 13-year-old female was abducted by unknown individuals in a white van on Atlantic Avenue.

New York State Police say there was a motorcycle crash on Friday morning in the Town of Mohawk that left one person injured. Brian A. Kelsey, 64, of Arkport was operating a 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on I-90 around 10:35 a.m., when he crashed while trying to merge away from a construction zone, said police. Officials say investigation determined that Kelsey attempted to merge into the right lane due to a left lane closure for construction.

A fire investigation in Watervliet is underway. We are told firefighters were at the scene of a home on Eighth Avenue Friday night.
