It is never ending with the NRL. It’s like a dog with a bone, especially when it comes to trying to push rugby league in places where it doesn’t have a history. Take Las Vegas for example. Following on from its initial venture into Sin City this past March, the NRL is already trumpeting its Mk II presence which it has scheduled for March 2025.

While we now know where the 2026 Rugby League World Cup (RLWC) is going to be played, for many fans there is still a bit of confusion about who is eligible to qualify and who isn’t. The International Rugby League (IRL) announced last week that RLWC2026 will be hosted by Australia, with a few games to be played in Papua New Guinea. Prior to that announcement, the IRL had said publicly in 2023 that it had changed some of the rules by which teams could qualify.

The Whistler Wolves have capped off a stunning season by winning the 2024 Rugby League British Columbia championship. They beat the Vancouver Dragons 26-12 in the championship game last Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Surrey, which is about a one-hour drive from Vancouver. And perhaps what is even more remarkable is that the club has achieved this in just its fourth season in the league in the western Canadian province.

The International Rugby League (IRL) and Rugby Football League (RFL) have both been criticized recently for decisions they have made regarding international games and domestic competitions, respectively, but is that criticism out of line? The IRL has been under the hammer for the past year since announcing that the 2025 Rugby League World Cup would be pushed back to 2026 and that the number of men’s teams will be cut from 16 to 10.

As @SkyNews correctly reported, the #NineNews journalist didn't have a helmet on and wasn't wearing a Press vest when hit by a rubber bullet while covering the protests in LA. @AlboMP needs to get his facts right before prattling on about it

Can't remember a time in my life when the world was as screwed up as it is now. Politics is the cause of most of the fracas, but there are other reasons too. Fortunately, there's heavy rock music like that of @threedaysgrace to give us a break from it

It's a shame the media in LA give Democratic politicians and MOS so much air time when it comes to ICE raids protests. They don't seem to understand there's a difference between immigrants and illegal immigrants
